The Lorbrin Water Tower
The Lorbrin Water Tower is one of the oldest surviving structures in Talmar Hollow. It was designed by the engineer Oswin Penpendrav and completed in 1921. The structure stands 17 metres tall.
Oswin Penpendrav drew up the plans after a public subscription raised funds for the project. Construction took three seasons, using stone quarried a few miles inland. When it opened in 1921, local newspapers described it as the most ambitious public work the town had attempted.
The Lorbrin Water Tower was restored in the late twentieth century and remains a familiar landmark for residents and visitors.
