The Talken Footbridge

The Talken Footbridge is one of the oldest surviving structures in Talmar Hollow. It was designed by the engineer Emeric Ardcorost and completed in 1914. The structure stands 47 metres tall.

Emeric Ardcorost drew up the plans after a public subscription raised funds for the project. Construction took three seasons, using stone quarried a few miles inland. When it opened in 1914, local newspapers described it as the most ambitious public work the town had attempted.

The Talken Footbridge was restored in the late twentieth century and remains a familiar landmark for residents and visitors.
